FNF Sonic Jam turns Friday Night Funkin’ into a high-speed Sonic crossover where music drives both the story and the competition. The mod features a dedicated Sonic campaign, original songs inspired by classic Sonic soundtracks, and a conflict involving Sonic, Dr. Eggman, and the machine-made Metal Sonic.

Sonic Takes Back the Sound

The opening WEEK SONIC in FNF Sonic Jam contains three original songs drawing inspiration from Sonic CD, Sonic R, Sonic Adventure, and other entries in the series. Hand-drawn cutscenes help establish the setting, while the rhythm battles move at a pace that suits Sonic's identity.

The larger campaign puts Sonic at the center of a musical takeover. Eggman uses Metal Sonic to control the city's music scene, with people believing the machine is the real Sonic. Sonic must reclaim that identity through a collection of 10+ Sonic Mixes, covering influences such as R&B, New Jack Swing, ’90s House, Rock, Hip Hop, and Chiptune.

Gameplay

In FNF Sonic Jam, playing as Sonic introduces a scoring mechanic beyond basic accuracy. After building a combo, you can use taunts during your turn and chain them with the rhythm. Successful combinations increase your bonus, while SICK notes contribute directly to your score. A strong performance therefore depends on both precision and style:

  • Combo: Maintain accurate notes to create opportunities for taunts.
  • Taunts: Chain them rhythmically to increase your bonus.
  • P Rank: Flawless play combined with strong styling is required for the highest results.

How to Play

Choose a song and follow the incoming notes, using Arrow Keys or WASD to match them with the targets. Faster patterns demand consistent timing, especially during Sonic's campaign. Enter confirms selections, while Esc pauses the game. You can play as Boyfriend, while Sonic becomes playable through Freeplay by pressing Tab. This gives the mod an extra reason to revisit its songs after experiencing the main campaign.
